Interested in taking online courses but not sure you can work completely on your own? Hybrid courses may be a good alternative for you. A blend of online and classroom instruction, hybrid courses follow a traditional pace of learning while reducing the amount of time you need to be on campus. Hybrid courses are identified with a 'H' – Hybrid; which is placed in front of the course title.
Hybrid Courses
- Combination of meeting with teacher during designated hours per week & expected “on-your-own” assignments & reading.
- Traditional pace of learning
- Reduced meeting time with teacher per week; expectations of student work outside of class.
- Interaction with the teacher and other students happens both in class and electronically through either email, file shares, or Blackboard.
- If a designated laptop “C” class, must use laptop in class. Example, BUS 101-C. Likely to be computer and network expectations for file transfer and email, or Web CT use.
